Call and program

Each year CCCC publishes a call for proposals, and the program is what came back. This page sets the two side by side: for each call, the words most particular to it, and how often those words turn up in the titles of that year’s sessions and papers, against titles in other years.

The call text is NCTE’s, so it is not reproduced here; each call is linked at NCTE where it is still online. The reader found calls for 15 years: 2010–2012, 2014–2019 and 2022–2027 (the others are not online). A call’s particular words are words of five or more letters used at least three times in it and in few other calls, after dropping dates, host cities and submission vocabulary. The echo shows whether the program took up the call’s language. It is not a measure of influence, since a call and a program draw on the same field, and short calls (2014, 2026) leave few particular words. Read it as a hint, then open the titles.
