Who convenes the field?
Each Computers and Writing program lists the people the conference put on its stages: who chaired, who presented, who responded, and from which institutions. This page counts them, conference by conference, for the 31 programs in the corpus, 1984 to 2024.
These are people listed in the program, not registrants or attendees. Programs are missing for 1982 to 1983, 1987 to 1988, 1991 to 1994, 2016 to 2017 and 2020 to 2021, several years are OCR'd scans, 1999, 2001, 2002, 2006, 2018, 2019 and 2022 print few or no institutions, and the 2024 schedule names almost no one. Shaded bands on the chart mark those breaks. How to read these numbers.
2,704sessions
10,047listings of a person in a session

By year
Each year opens that conference's program. Institutions are matched by their printed form to the ones the CCCC and IWAC readers already hold; the share outside the US uses listings whose institution matched, and is blank where a program prints none.

“First listed” counts people whose first listing in this corpus is that year, so early years run high. Names are joined only on an exact match; no reviewed merges have been made for Computers and Writing yet.
